The ESP Institute is an independent record label founded in 2010 by Andrew Hogge, also known as Lovefingers. Based in Los Angeles and New York City, the label is renowned for its eclectic and genre-defying approach to electronic music, encompassing styles from ambient and post-punk to acid techno and neoclassical. With over 120 releases, ESP Institute has established itself as a platform for both emerging and established artists, including Young Marco, Tornado Wallace, Powder, and Lord of the Isles. The label maintains a strong visual identity, with most artwork designed by Mario Hugo, contributing to its distinctive aesthetic.
The Lovefingers 1000 List, also known as the Fingertracks, was a seminal online project curated by Andrew Hogge (aka Lovefingers) in the early 2000s. Over several years, he shared one track per day on his website, culminating in a collection of 999 tracks that spanned genres like psychedelic rock, ambient, cosmic disco, post-punk, and experimental music. This project became a cornerstone for crate diggers and selectors worldwide, celebrated for its eclecticism and deeply personal curation.
